We reserve the right to edit, delete, block and ban any posts or members. Spamming the forums on why your post we didn't feel was appropriate got deleted will only annoy us and get you banned.
Things subject to removal and member banning:
-Posting in the incorrect section. Don't start an argument thread in any other section except the Arguments/Trash Talk forum and items need to stay in off topic and only in off topic if they have any chance of causing problems in other sections. If a post is locked/deleted do not start a new thread continuing the topic.
-Spamming. If you are just trying to whore up your post count, your account will be deactived, your posts will be removed. If you continue to do this, you'll be banned.
Quoting to re-enforce a point another member made or in order to agree is acceptable.
Over-use of the quote of the same post will be viewed as spam. Warnings will be handed out for this.
-Pr0n. All pr0n and/or adult content MUST be posted with NWS in the thread title. Unless it's in the Off Topic forum, pictures/videos must be LINKS only. What I mean is do NOT wrap the images with the img tags. Users must click on them. If it's in the Off Topic section, the thread title MUST contain NWS.
-Unwanted links. This includes links to sites that popup those little annoying windows that say "your an idiot" over and over, which would result in a normal PC user to have to do a hard shut down of there PC to get rid of it. Goatse and Tubgirl are also prime examples. Any such links will result in a permanent ban, regardless of who you are, your momma or your daddy is. It's not welcome here.
-Advertising. There will be no advertising from unauthorized people here. Period. If you want to sell a service, then your going to have to pay for advertising here. This includes putting links to other sites in your signature. If you want others to vist your favorite site, then put it in the web site field of your profile and people can click the www button under your posts to visit your desired web site. Only offical sponsors/vendors can have web site links back to there company's web site. If you feel the need to advertise your site by making a new post, then you must place a link to our site on the site your advertising and show us where that link is located. All other threads will be removed.
-Illegal activities. In most cases there isn't even a need for discussion of illegal activities in any way on the forums.
Threads/replies encouraging other illegal/unethical action will not be allowed. This also includes threads about using and/or obtaining illegal copies of copyrighted material such as software, music, videos/movies, and sharing registration and license keys of copyrighted material. Discussion of drugs is limited to the purpose of the drug. Soliciting information on obtaining illegal drugs or information on the use and purpose of the illegal drug is not appropriate on our site. Using the site's PM system to sell or obtain illegal drugs is expressly forbidden and anyone reported to be using the PM System for this purpose, and if the fact is proven by a copy of a forwarded PM to an Administrator, will be immediately banned from the board. Threads to promote organized gambling or lottery type money activities are not appropriate. We have no gambling license or affiliations with gambling businesses and therefore we cannot condone any real organized gambling activities on the site.
-Flaming, trolling, or all around negative attitude. You don't need to show off your internet fighting abilities on our forums. It's very easy to debate and discuss opinions, theories, and comparisons in a respectible way without personal attacks and we expect it of our members. Yes, excessive or inappropriate swearing is included here.
-Signatures. You can have as many images as you wish in your signature, as long as the overall height of them do not exceed 200 pixels tall and no more than 1024 pixels wide.
-Racism. It will NOT be tolerated what-so-ever. I don't care if your racists against your own race. It wont be tolerated here.
-Account sharing and multiple accounts. Sharing your account with other users is frowned upon here. Your account may be in privileged user access, and thus your not to SHARE it with anyone, for any reason. Creating multiple accounts is not needed, creating a second account to get around bans will just make your ban longer.
-Any questionable promoting of a company or site. If it looks like a plug for all the wrong reasons it doesn't belong.
We will take most things case by case, but will be very tough to ensure the content on the site remains fair, of high quality, welcoming, and with no hidden biased agenda.
We are not responsible for information shared and advice/procedures given for tech support or help. The forums are not the official tech support for any vehicle, it is only peer to peer tech help. Information we give out is to our knowledge and as best we know. If you question anything you should contact the company that made your vehicle or product..
Buying and selling is an at your own risk venture. The For Sale section rules can be found here:
http://forums.redlined.org/viewtopic.php?p=62798#62798Each section follows the same guidelines in direction of its moderators who, with the community create their own atmosphere which can vary from section to section. If you're having a problem in a particular section, you should contact the moderator(s) of that section. They are volunteers and enthusiasts so respect them for their position and the work they put into these forums.
You will find members who identify themselves as company employees. They are here to help answer questions about their products. They will often help with a problem someone is having with an order, or just participate in discussions. Do NOT abuse them. They are not obligated to help you here. Treat them with respect for the time they're putting into helping the community. We verify all members who claim to represent a company.
Below you will see a couple of commonly asked questions:
Hey, where'd that thread go?
-If the thread was not related to the section it was posted under it was either moved to the correct section or deleted. Our suggestion is threads be posted in the correct section in the first place to avoid this. This makes it much easier for people searching the forums for info to find it easy and also keeps the forums from being cluttered.
-If the thread had any deceitful self promotion or bashing of a competitor from a reseller acting as a regular member, we remove it and the member doing it. It could be the one who started the thread or a reply in the thread. If the thread even looks like it's self promotion, has the potential to turn into self promotion, or here to plug/bash a company we may remove it. We do not want to open the doors for resellers to use the members like a meat market. This is not a reseller review site since we have no means to validate all the praises and complaints from the companies mentioned if they are really customers.
-If the thread had any potential for flaming, pricewars, closet company scam, or just plain ugliness we will close or remove it.
Also keep your FREE IPOD! crap off of here, doesn't matter if it's legal or not, it's based around email spamming and when we have 20 members posting trying to get people to sign up, it becomes forum spamming. Your forum membership will be removed.
Besides that, some threads vanish by choice of who posted it. You have the option to delete your own threads on the forums.
Hey, why is that name blocked?
-If we have caught a reseller, company, or website self promoting through deceit and pretending to be a member praising themselves, or just plain spamming the forums throwing sales pitches through posts and/or PMs we sometimes block their name from even being mentioned. This is to stop the spam and keep that kind of greed from the forums. We haven't blocked all of the ones we've caught doing this, only the most extreme ones. If someone makes a post regarding one of these dirt bags we've caught doing this and the name isn't blocked, we might remove the name or post even if there's a hint of it looking like a plug to generate interest instead of speak of an experience.
While we would love to post a list of all the companies that have done this or we're investigating doing this we don't for two reasons, 1) We don't want to promote them since some feel negative publicity is better than none. 2) We try and give second chances when we feel they just made a poor decision trying to pull such a stunt.
You will see us from time to time calling someone out and changing the subject of their post to include "(FRAUD POST!)" in the subject.
We want to keep the information legit and as unbiased as possible and this is the best we have found to do it. We want members to be able to research the pros and cons of various brands of laptops, read reviews, and get questions answered without the corporate prick breathing down your neck trying to sway your opinion in a way they will be benefited by doing whatever it takes. Any suggestions, feel free to email admin.
Hey, you dirt bags trying to promote here pretending to not have ties to the company you're plugging:
If you think we're not on to you, keep smoking that stuff and we'll call you out. We WILL get warrants to force ISPs and proxy servers to release info they don't want to tell us by request. We can and do catch people with ties plugging a company. You better watch those phone calls and shred all paperwork cause you will be caught! We go so far most would tell us to get a life and let it go already, but NO, there will be JUSTICE!
Thank you everyone for stopping by. We will continue to provide and grow the best Gulf Coast car enthusiasts community on the net. This isn't just another site ran by business focused people trying to create traffic to make money off banner ads. We truly love the work we do and our work is knowing cars beyond what the spec sheet says. We are techs and racers that welcome everyone to come swap knowledge and learn. We have MANY things planned and in the works to better the community through enhanced features and information.
We reserve the right to change this at any time, without informing you. So it's up to you to check here and stay up-to-date on the rules.
